The River of Life
Revelation 22:1 22 The angel showed me a river filled with the water of life, as clear as crystal. It was flowing from the throne of God and the lamb. | Psalm 46:4 4 There is a river whose streams bring joy to the city of Elohim, the holy place where Elyon lives. Ezekiel 27:30 30 They cried loudly and bitterly over you. They put dust on their heads and covered themselves with ashes. Ezekiel 27:32 32 They sang a funeral song for you with loud crying: “Who is like Tyre, the city destroyed in the sea?” Ezekiel 47:5-11 5 Then he measured another 1,500 feet. But the water had risen so much that it became a river which I couldn’t cross. The river was too deep to cross except by swimming. 6 Then he asked me, “Son of man, do you see this?” 7 Then the man led me back along the bank of the river. As I went back, I saw many trees on both sides of the river. 8 Then the man said to me, “This water flows through the land to the east, down into the Jordan Valley, and into the Dead Sea. When the water flows into the Dead Sea, it will replace the salt water there with fresh water. 9 Wherever the river flows, there will be many fish and animals. The river will make the water in the Dead Sea fresh. Wherever the river flows, it will bring life. 10 From En Gedi to En Eglaim people will be standing on the shore of the sea with their fishing nets spread out. As many kinds of fish will be there as there are in the Mediterranean Sea. 11 But the water in the swamps and marshes won’t become fresh. It will remain salty. Zechariah 14:8 8 On that day living water will flow out from Jerusalem, half of it to the Dead Sea and the other half to the Mediterranean Sea. It will continue in summer and in winter. John 7:38 38 As Scripture says, ‘Streams of living water will flow from deep within the person who believes in me.’” Joel 3:18 18 On that day new wine will cover the mountains. Milk will flow on the hills. Water will flow in all the brooks of Judah. A spring will flow from Yahweh’s temple. It will water the valley of Shittim. Revelation 18:18 18 When they saw the smoke rise from her raging fire, they repeatedly cried out, ‘Was there ever a city as important as this?’ |
| Revelation 22:2 2 Between the street of the city and the river there was a tree of life visible from both sides. It produced 12 kinds of fruit. Each month had its own fruit. The leaves of the tree will heal the nations. | Genesis 2:9 9 Yahweh Elohim made all the trees grow out of the ground. These trees were nice to look at, and their fruit was good to eat. The tree of life and the tree of the knowledge of good and evil grew in the middle of the garden. Proverbs 11:30 30 The fruit of a righteous person is a tree of life, and a winner of souls is wise. Ezekiel 36:35 35 People will say, “This wasteland has become like the garden of Eden. The cities were destroyed. They were empty and ruined, but now they are fortified and have people living in them.” Ezekiel 47:12 12 All kinds of fruit trees will grow on both sides of the river. Their leaves won’t wither, and they won’t fail to produce fruit. Each month they will produce fresh fruit because this water flows from the holy place. The fruit will be good food, and the leaves will be used for healing.” Joel 2:3 3 In front of this army a fire burns. Behind it flames are blazing. In front of it the land is like the garden of Eden. Behind it the land is like a barren desert. Nothing escapes it! Ezekiel 47:1-2 47 Then the man took me back to the door of the temple. I saw water flowing from under the entrance of the temple toward the east. (The temple faced east.) The water was flowing under the south side of the temple, south of the altar. 2 Then he led me through the north gate and around to the outer east gate. The water was flowing down the south side of the gate. Ezekiel 47:7 7 Then the man led me back along the bank of the river. As I went back, I saw many trees on both sides of the river. Daniel 7:18 18 But the holy people of the Elyonin will take possession of the kingdom and keep it forever and ever.” Daniel 7:27 27 The kingdom, along with the power and greatness of all the kingdoms under heaven, will be given to the holy people of the Elyonin. Their kingdom is eternal. All other powers will serve and obey them.” Ezekiel 48:35 35 The city will measure about 31,500 feet all the way around. From then on the city’s name will be: Yahweh Shammah.
