Who is Israel?
This story is not about a race of people. It’s about His children that Follow His Torah, The Law.
You may say, The law? Follow the Law? We are not under the Law! Please tell me which one of the ten commandments can we omit?
Adam
See previous post. He was meant to be a priest to the people created outside the garden.
Moses
The Lord wanted all of them to be His holy, royal, priesthood. The people rejected this and wanted Moses to be the one that talks to Him.
Exodus 20:18-19 All the people heard the thunder and saw the lightning. They heard the blast of the ram’s horn and saw the mountain covered with smoke. So they shook with fear and stood at a distance. Then they said to Moses, “You speak to us, and we’ll listen. But don’t let Elohim speak to us, or we’ll die!”
The Father always works with what we are willing to do.
Today
It comes full circle. The Father wants it to be what He originally intended. JIt has just has taken us 6,000 years or so because we are slow learners with hard hearts.
1 Peter 2:9 However, you are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, people who belong to God. You were chosen to tell about the excellent qualities of God, who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light.
Romans 2:28-29 A person is not a Jew because of his appearance, nor is circumcision a matter of how the body looks. Rather, a person is a Jew inwardly, and circumcision is something that happens in a person’s heart. Circumcision is spiritual, not just a written rule. That person’s praise will come from God, not from people.
Please explain this scripture.
Matthew 19:1-20(NOG)16 Then a man came to Yeshua and said, “Teacher, what good deed should I do to gain eternal life?”17 Yeshua said to him, “Why do you ask me about what is good? There is only one who is good. If you want to enter into life, obey the commandments.”18 “Which commandments?” the man asked.Yeshua said, “Never murder. Never commit adultery. Never steal. Never give false testimony. 19 Honor your father and mother. Love your neighbor as you love yourself.”20 The young man replied, “I have obeyed all these commandments. What else do I need to do?”
Yeshua gave us law, gave us commandments, He is the Word made flesh.
1John 3:19-21 (NOG) 19 This is how we will know that we belong to the truth and how we will be reassured in his presence. 20 Whenever our conscience condemns us, we will be reassured that God is greater than our conscience and knows everything. 21 Dear friends, if our conscience doesn’t condemn us, we can boldly look to God 22 and receive from him anything we ask. We receive it because we obey his commandments and do what pleases him. 23 This is his commandment: to believe in his Son, the one named Yeshua Christ, and to love each other as he commanded us. 24 Those who obey Yeshua’s commandments live in God, and God lives in them. We know that he lives in us because he has given us the Spirit.
Disclaimer
I don’t claim to be an expert. I reserve the right to be wrong! My studies lead me to conclude that basically anyone who followed the Torah was considered “his people”. –
