| Revelation 5:1 5 I saw a scroll in the right hand of the one who sits on the throne. It had writing both on the inside and on the outside. Ezekiel 2:9-10 9 As I looked, I saw a hand stretched out toward me. In it was a scroll.10 He spread the scroll in front of me. There was writing on the front and back. There were funeral songs, songs of mourning, and horrible things written on it. Daniel 12:4 4 “But you, Daniel, keep these words secret, and seal the book until the end times. Many will travel everywhere, and knowledge will grow.” Daniel 12:9-10 9 He replied, “Go, Daniel. These words are to be kept secret and sealed until the end times. 10 Many will be purified, made white, and refined. But wicked people will do wicked things, and none of them will understand. Don’t be terrified in their presence, even though they are rebellious people. 7 Speak my words to them whether they listen or not, because they are rebellious. 8 But you, son of man, listen to what I say. Don’t be rebellious like those rebellious people. Open your mouth, and eat what I am giving to you.” 9 As I looked, I saw a hand stretched out toward me. Then speak to the people of Israel.” 2 So I opened my mouth, and he gave me the scroll to eat. 3 He said to me, “Son of man, eat this scroll I’m giving you, and fill your stomach with it.” So I ate it, and it tasted as sweet as honey in my mouth. 4 He said to me, “Son of man, go to the people of Israel, and speak my words to them. 5 I am not sending you to people whose language is hard to understand or difficult to speak. I am sending you to Israel. 6 I am not sending you to nations whose language is hard to understand, difficult to speak, or whose words you cannot understand. If I send you to those nations, they will certainly listen to you. 7 But the people of Israel will refuse to listen to you because they refuse to listen to me. All the people of Israel are very stubborn and hardheaded. 8 Yet, I will make you as stubborn and as hardheaded as they are. 9 I will make you as hard as a diamond, harder than stone. Don’t be afraid of them. Don’t be terrified in their presence, even though they are rebellious people.” 10 He also said to me, “Son of man, take to heart everything I have spoken to you, and listen closely. 11 Go to the exiles, to your people. Whether they listen or not, tell them, ‘This is what Adonay Yahweh says.’” 12 Then the Ruach lifted me, and behind me I heard a loud thundering voice say, “Blessed is Yahweh’s glory, which left this place.” 13 I also heard the noise of the wings of the living creatures touching one another and the noise of the wheels beside them as well as a loud rumbling. 14 Then the Ruach lifted me and took me away. I went away feeling bitter and angry. The strong power of Yahweh came over me. 15 I went to Tel Abib, to the exiles who lived by the Chebar River. I sat there among them for seven days. I was stunned. Ezekiel Is Appointed to Be a Watchman 16 After seven days Yahweh spoke his word to me. He said, 17 “Son of man, I have made you a watchman over the people of Israel. Listen to what I say, and warn them for me. 18 Suppose I tell you that wicked people will surely die, but you don’t warn them or speak out so that they can change their wicked ways in order to save their lives. Then these wicked people will die because of their sin, but I will hold you responsible for their deaths. 19 But suppose you warn the wicked people, and they don’t turn from their wicked ways. Then they will die because of their sin, but you will save yourself. 20 If righteous people turn from living the right way and do wrong, I will make them stumble, and they will die. If you don’t warn them, they will die because of their sin, and the right things they did will not be remembered. I will hold you responsible for their deaths. 21 But if you warn righteous people not to sin, and they don’t sin, they will certainly live because they listened to the warning. You will save yourself.” The Lord Gives Ezekiel Directions to Follow 22 The power of Yahweh came over me. He said, “Get up, and go to the plain. I will speak to you there.” 23 I got up and went to the plain. Yahweh’s glory was standing there like the glory I saw by the Chebar River, and I immediately bowed down. 24 Then the Ruach entered me and stood me on my feet. He talked to me. He said, “Go into your home, and shut yourself inside. 25 People will tie you up with ropes, son of man, so that you can’t go outside. 26 I will make your tongue stick to the roof of your mouth so that you can’t talk or criticize them, even though they are rebellious people. 27 But when I speak to you, I will open your mouth. You will tell them, ‘This is what Adonay Yahweh says.’ Some will listen, and some will refuse to listen. They are rebellious people.” |

It will be a time of trouble unlike any that has existed from the time there have been nations until that time. But at that time your people, everyone written in the book, will be rescued. 2 Many sleeping in the ground will wake up. Some will wake up to live forever, but others will wake up to be ashamed and disgraced forever. 3 Those who are wise will shine like the brightness on the horizon. Those who lead many people to righteousness will shine like the stars forever and ever. 4 “But you, Daniel, keep these words secret, and seal the book until the end times. Many will travel everywhere, and knowledge will grow.” The Words Are Sealed Up 5 When I, Daniel, looked up, I saw two men standing there. One man stood on one side of the river, and the other one stood on the other side. 6 One of them asked the man dressed in linen clothes who was above the river, “How long will it be until these miracles are over?” 7 I heard the man dressed in linen clothes who was above the river. He raised his right hand and left hand to heaven and swore an oath by the one who lives forever. He said, “It will be for a time, times, and half of a time. When the power of the holy people has been completely shattered, then all these things will be finished.” 8 I heard him, but I did not understand. So I asked him, “Sir, how will these things end?” 9 He replied, “Go, Daniel. These words are to be kept secret and sealed until the end times. 10 Many will be purified, made white, and refined. But wicked people will do wicked things, and none of them will understand. Only wise people will understand. 11 From the time the daily burnt offering is taken away and the disgusting thing that causes destruction is set up, there will be 1,290 days. 12 Blessed are those who wait until they reach 1,335 days. 13 But go on until the end. You will rest, and you will rise for your inheritance at the end of time.” | Isaiah 11 The Lord’s Kingdom Will Be Ruled by a Shoot from Jesse’s Stump 11 Then a shoot will come out from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from its roots will bear fruit. 2 The Ruach Yahweh will rest on him— the Ruach of wisdom and understanding, the Ruach of advice and power, the Ruach of knowledge and fear of Yahweh. 3 He will gladly bear the fear of Yahweh. He will not judge by what his eyes see or decide by what his ears hear. 4 He will judge the poor justly. He will make fair decisions for the humble people on earth. He will strike the earth with a rod from his mouth. He will kill the wicked with the breath from his lips. 5 Justice will be the belt around his waist. Faithfulness will be the belt around his hips. 6 Wolves will live with lambs. Leopards will lie down with goats. Calves, young lions, and year-old lambs will be together, and little children will lead them. 7 Cows and bears will eat together. Their young will lie down together. Lions will eat straw like oxen. 8 Infants will play near cobras’ holes. Toddlers will put their hands into vipers’ nests. 9 They will not hurt or destroy anyone anywhere on my holy mountain. The world will be filled with the knowledge of Yahweh like water covering the sea. 10 At that time the root of Jesse will stand as a banner for the people to gather around. The nations will come to him. His resting place will be glorious. 11 At that time Adonay will use his power again to recover what remains of his people in Assyria, Upper and Lower Egypt, Sudan, Elam, Babylonia, Hamath, and the islands of the sea. 12 He will raise a banner for the nations to gather around. He will gather the outcasts of Israel and bring together the scattered people of Judah from the four corners of the earth. 13 Ephraim’s jealousy will vanish, and Judah’s opponents will come to an end. Ephraim won’t be jealous of Judah, and Judah won’t oppose Ephraim. 14 They will swoop down on the slopes of Philistia in the west. Together they will loot the people of the east. They will conquer Edom and Moab. The people of Ammon will be subject to them. 15 Yahweh will dry up the gulf of the Egyptian Sea. He will wave his hand over the Euphrates River with his scorching wind and divide it into seven streams so that people can walk over it in their sandals. 16 There will be a highway for the remaining few of his people left in Assyria like there was for Israel when it came out of Egypt. |
